Peer support
Recovering from a brain injury can be an isolating and overwhelming experience, as survivors often face challenges that are difficult for others to fully understand. Peer support offers a transformative solution by connecting individuals who share similar lived experiences. These connections foster a sense of community, reduce feelings of isolation, and provide emotional and practical support.
This approach complements traditional rehabilitation by focusing on the mental and emotional aspects of recovery, which are just as crucial as physical healing.
What is SameChat?
SameChat is a peer support programme created by SameYou and led by a partner organisation, Sphere Rehabilitation. SameChat matches a brain injury survivor or their loved ones with people with lived experience of brain injury.
